Meet Joe

My family has called Arizona home for more than 39 years, and we’ve been Goodyear residents for the past 23 years. My wife, Vickie, and I have been married for 50 years. Our son Nicholas, his wife Kristen, and our grandchildren Sophia and Aubrey also reside in Goodyear – you can see, we’re deeply invested in the city’s future.

Before serving on City Council, I worked in state and local government finance for 40 years helping cities make smart, responsible financial decisions that protect taxpayers while supporting community growth. This background continues to shape how I approach every decision as Mayor- balancing vision with fiscal responsibility. I was first elected to the Goodyear City Council in 2009, served as Acting Mayor in 2010, was appointed Mayor in 2021 following the passing of Mayor Georgia Lord. In 2022 you elected me to a full term, an honor I’m truly grateful for. |

In addition to my public service, I currently serve as Adjunct Professor teaching accounting and finance classes through Grand Canyon University, Park University, and Estrella Mountain Community College. I also stay active in the community through the Goodyear-Pebble Creek White Tanks Rotary Club, the Southwest Lending Closet board of directors, and regional committees like the Maricopa Association of Governments and Greater Phoenix Economic Council. I’m proud to support local non-profit organizations such as Helping One Woman, Meals of Joy, and Just Ask organization. Goodyear has been my home for decades, and I want to ensure it remains one of the best places in Arizona where families like mine can continue to thrive.
